Dear Mooncool.
Following my recent purchase of an E-Trike, I was notified by Bank Scotia, my financial institution, about several suspicious attempts to make online purchases using my credit card information. Fortunately, the bank’s security measures intercepted and blocked these unauthorized transactions.
However, this week, Bank Scotia contacted me directly to inform me that another hacking attempt had occurred, and this time, the fraudulent transaction was initially successful. Thankfully, the bank was able to reverse the unauthorized purchase in a timely manner.
Bank Scotia’s subsequent investigation revealed that my credit card information had been compromised through your company’s online system. According to their findings, your online security protocols were not sufficiently robust to prevent hackers from accessing clients’ sensitive contact information. This contrasts with other platforms, such as Amazon, which have more effective security measures in place.
Given these events, I strongly encourage your company to review and strengthen the security of your online store to better protect customer data. Due to this experience, I will no longer make purchases from your website until adequate security improvements are implemented.
